Q2 Web Page Project

Overview:

The project was a little difficult for me because I did not save the project right and most of my work I had done got deleted so I had to restart but it all worked to in the end. It was kind of fun to customize because I love adding color to things because it just makes them so much more appealing. I thought it was kind of hard sometimes because I had never used this software before but it was a good learning experience.

What I learned:

I learned you really have to be patient when you working with something you have never used before because things can go wrong but it will all work out in the end. I also learned there are many specific steps you have to follow to make sure the web page gets saved and edited right.

How I did:

I think I did pretty good because the page does look appealing and it's easy to read. I think the content is pretty interesting to read and it has really appealing colors that don't look bad together.
I think I could have used better fonts but overall I think I did pretty good.

Conclusion:

I want to know how professional web page creators make their websites because I think I could really learn from that and get some new tips and tricks

Elevator Pitch

Hi, my name is Olivia Thomas I am a competitive dancer and I have an amazing logo for you to see. I have a lot of skills for this particular job for example I can see what looks good or needs work and I can make really good decisions on things. I mentioned I am a competitive dancer which is pretty unique and I have been doing it for about 8 years and it’s a true passion of mine so it makes me a perfectionist which can be really helpful sometimes. Other things about me are I am a very good leader and listener. I love working with kids and I have a lot of drive and passion. It would be amazing if I could have your contact for future projects, you can contact me at my email, phone number, and Instagram. I think your work is great and I could learn a lot from you. Thank you so much for taking your time and listening to me.

Personal Logo

Process:

The process for making this logo was pretty challenging because when you make so many variations of something it's very hard to decide what color or not you want it to be when they all look good. I really wanted to make something that was pleasing to look at and something that will draw your eye in a good way. I drew so many versions of what I wanted but none of them really worked out so much actual final logo is the one above which I started when I was just playing around with the patterns and shapes.

My ideas:

I really wanted my name to be in cursive because I think it's very elegant and pretty to look at. I love the color maroon and it goes very well with my personality. The pattern in the middle was perfect for this logo because its very chaotic but still calm at the same time and describes me perfectly. I chose two circles because I wanted to the inner circle to represent my family and the outer circle to represent my friends which are both super important to me.

CARP Poster

Contrast:

The contrast I used on the poster is the red color for the title because it's a very drastically different color from the green and yellow already on the background. I also made the picture on the Four characters in the middle very opaque to make it stand out and people would recognize that they are the famous characters from The Wizard Of Oz.

Alignment:

I aligned the title so that it would stand out and so that it would be easy to see clearly. The citations and websites weren't as important to I center aligned them in the bottom.

Repetition:

I used repetition in the font of the white information so that it would be noticeable.  Then I also used repetition for the title the way it goes down with the same font.

Proximity:

I really didn't want to put anything on the yellow brick road in the background because I think that would be a little distracting to I used as much space as I could in the middle and sides so that I could fit all of the information without it being too scrunched up.

Typography Project

Overview:

This project was over the different parts of a font with sans in it. In my name there wasn't many terms that went with my name but you can still see the different parts on the letters and the terms that go with them.

What I Learned:

I learned that the command C and command V are very helpful when you want to keep all your words the same size and font and color. I also learned that you have to be patient when doing these kinds of projects because things will go wrong but you just have to keep trying.

How it Went:

It actually went pretty smoothly which was a little surprising for me because it is only my second time ever using this software. There were a couple of bumps at the beginning trying to get the lines to line up right.

Color Wheel

Overview:

So for this project I created a color wheel that showed all primary, secondary, and tertiary colors. The primary colors are big circles in the wheel the colors are blue, yellow, and red. The secondary colors are the squares on the wheel and those colors are orange, green, and violet. Last but not least there are the tertiary colors which are the smaller triangles on wheel and there are 6 tertiary colors and they are yellow-orange, red-orange, red-violet, blue-violet, blue-green, and yellow-green. How to get tertiary colors is you have to mix a primary color and secondary color together.

What I learned:

Something that I learned while doing this project is you have to have a lot of patience because if you don't you will get really frustrated and give up on trying. I also learned it's a learning process and you will mess up a lot and have to use the command z button a lot but that's ok because your still learning.
Another thing I learned was that it takes time and many times I would press the wrong button and mess something up but I had to keep trying. Lastly I had to make sure I was using the tool to do certain things like the text if you were still on the text tool and you didn't press the cursor tool the you you just draw another text box instead of moving the first one to where you want it.

What I did:

What I did was try my best in making a color wheel that was aesthetically pleasing and correct. I think that I did a pretty good job on this project considering that it was my first time using adobe illustrator. But something I would do differently next time would be to figure how to tilt the text so that it was sort of the same angle as the color it was describing. Lastly I would also try and get the colors closer to what their name is because I didn't really know how to customize them.
