CARP Poster

Contrast:

The contrast I used on the poster is the red color for the title because it's a very drastically different color from the green and yellow already on the background. I also made the picture on the Four characters in the middle very opaque to make it stand out and people would recognize that they are the famous characters from The Wizard Of Oz.

Alignment:

I aligned the title so that it would stand out and so that it would be easy to see clearly. The citations and websites weren't as important to I center aligned them in the bottom.

Repetition:

I used repetition in the font of the white information so that it would be noticeable.  Then I also used repetition for the title the way it goes down with the same font.

Proximity:

I really didn't want to put anything on the yellow brick road in the background because I think that would be a little distracting to I used as much space as I could in the middle and sides so that I could fit all of the information without it being too scrunched up.

Typography Project

Overview:

This project was over the different parts of a font with sans in it. In my name there wasn't many terms that went with my name but you can still see the different parts on the letters and the terms that go with them.

What I Learned:

I learned that the command C and command V are very helpful when you want to keep all your words the same size and font and color. I also learned that you have to be patient when doing these kinds of projects because things will go wrong but you just have to keep trying.

How it Went:

It actually went pretty smoothly which was a little surprising for me because it is only my second time ever using this software. There were a couple of bumps at the beginning trying to get the lines to line up right.

Color Wheel

Overview:

So for this project I created a color wheel that showed all primary, secondary, and tertiary colors. The primary colors are big circles in the wheel the colors are blue, yellow, and red. The secondary colors are the squares on the wheel and those colors are orange, green, and violet. Last but not least there are the tertiary colors which are the smaller triangles on wheel and there are 6 tertiary colors and they are yellow-orange, red-orange, red-violet, blue-violet, blue-green, and yellow-green. How to get tertiary colors is you have to mix a primary color and secondary color together.

What I learned:

Something that I learned while doing this project is you have to have a lot of patience because if you don't you will get really frustrated and give up on trying. I also learned it's a learning process and you will mess up a lot and have to use the command z button a lot but that's ok because your still learning.
Another thing I learned was that it takes time and many times I would press the wrong button and mess something up but I had to keep trying. Lastly I had to make sure I was using the tool to do certain things like the text if you were still on the text tool and you didn't press the cursor tool the you you just draw another text box instead of moving the first one to where you want it.

What I did:

What I did was try my best in making a color wheel that was aesthetically pleasing and correct. I think that I did a pretty good job on this project considering that it was my first time using adobe illustrator. But something I would do differently next time would be to figure how to tilt the text so that it was sort of the same angle as the color it was describing. Lastly I would also try and get the colors closer to what their name is because I didn't really know how to customize them.

Chase Scene

When I was creating the ideas for this video I sort of had trouble because I could create one good story and the others weren't as good. But we did end up going with one of my ideas for the video and I think it turned out pretty good. Some other ideas that other people in my group had was stealing something for example a lunchbox or something easy to steal. Our location was in the mostly the hallways of the school which was good because you want small walkways for shooting a chase scene. Everyone did agree for the location which made the video shooting process a lot easier.

The filming process was a little different for me because my group was not very focused the whole time which made it a little difficult for us to get all the shots done and multiple runs of the shot and still get done on time. Some of our disagreements were settled by trying to look at the problem the way the other person sees it so that we could understand where the other person was coming from and hopefully that would solve the problem. My role in the film was actor so it was Conner and I  acting in the video. Something I would do differently is try getting more runs of each shot because we didn't do that and it was sort of difficult to edit it when one of the takes was bad. Some challenges was faced was trying to make sure we got all of the 6 shot systems equally in the video because it is a little difficult to make sure you have all of them in a chase scene. My skills in premier have gotten a lot better since I started using it because I had never used it before so it was definitely challenging the first time but I have gotten a lot better. Some things I want to learn going forward are how do I make everything flow together smoothly so that it all goes together nicely. I can continue to grow by staying in e-comm so my skills can continue to get better as I get older.

Working with my team was a little bit difficult because I didn't really know them and we all didn't really share the same thoughts we didn't work very well together. Our aspect of making the the film entertaining was all the same but the aspect of getting it done nicely and orderly were not because they liked to goof around a lot. Something I will do differently is making sure I don't take over the whole thing because I tend to do that in teamwork situations.

AB sequence

When we made this video we had to be very careful to make sure that we didn't break the 180 degree rule which is very important to not break. We also wanted to make sure we had all the 6 shots in our video to make it very diverse. Our brains thought alike because we both came up with the idea to do the video on someone being lost on their way to class. We both decided we wanted to do a lot of shots to make the video pretty interesting and something you want to keep watching ad not get bored. My experience with editing this video was a little rough because my video time line somehow got deleted and I had to restart to the whole video. But I took this negative this and turned it into a positive thing because I could really get a second chance on some of the shots if I didn't like how I edited them.

Our video had a lot of diversity because we had a lot of close ups and extreme wides, also we even went outside at one point in the video. We went all over the school for example the elevator, the lunch  room, and the front office. My partner and I worked very well together because were pretty good friends to start off do working together was a breeze. Something that I would do different is the music I didn't really liked what I picked but I was sort of in a time crunch to pick something.

How to Print a Document

Our creative process was very collaborative and that really helped our project run smoothly. Also we decided to split up the jobs as much as we could so that everyone got a turn to so something with the video for example the filming or the acting. Our key decisions were the angles that we choose because they were a big factor in making this video. The entire group was definitely involved in the entire process because everyone had their role for example the film making or the acting. my role in the process was the like the leader because I am best at facilitating and making sure everyone's ideas are heard.

Something that I would do differently is to make sure that we have an establishing shot because we didn't and I think that would make the video a lot better. Something that I would keep the same is the shot where he is walking down the hallway because I think it made the video more entertaining. Some thing that I have learned for this experience is to make sure you communicate and listen to each other because it will make the collaboration so much easier. I think this project was a great way to learn the different techniques and ways to film a video.
